Earthquake day was surprisingly sunny so I snapped these shots and stitched them together into panoramics – they’re a bit rough but you get the idea!

You know how people say that life can change in an instant? Well life has changed, been flipped on it’s ass and all of us along with it.
It began with a visit to the doctor for a pesky cough. A sinister cough that was actually indicative of a big ass tumour hiding in Dad’s lung. An X-ray showed this and a ct scan showed some more masses on his spine and in his lymph nodes. Holy hell.
Surgery not an option there would not be enough viable lung tissue remaining so chemo began on Wednesday.
We are 2 days post chemo now and Dad is doing great, I’m playing chauffeur so he doesn’t go crazy in the house and can keep jobs rolling. His attitude is amazing, so positive and strong I don’t think I would be able to drag myself out of bed or my lip off the ground.

The weather has been pretty lovely for Autumn which is good, but bad because of the drought and our empty tanks, but Ethan made the most of it with a little fishing trip where he got to practise hooking ‘em and releasing  ‘em!

Ethan should be Molly's boy and vice versa but they don't belong to each other so make do with sleepovers. Molly plays in the sprinkler with Ethan & tirelessly pretends to be a marlin while Louie skulks off to the back of the house in case and rogue sprinkles hit him.

Nana always takes Ethan strawberry picking in the holidays, it's 'their thing'. God knows what would happen if I wanted to go strawberry picking!

Nana also spends countless hours indulging the fishing obsession down at the pond where it has been discovered that tadpoles don't really take well to sprat lines. Who knew?

And then there is Marley. Safety first Marl, where's your life jacket hmmmm?

Well, he did it.  I don’t know what else the world could possibly have in store for Ethan that would even come close to the thrill of catching his first (baby!) shark.  It was the only fish caught today yet somehow that little shark managed to get foul hooked on just the right persons rod, because it caused Ethan to go silent in absolute awe of reeling in a shark for the first time.  He was ‘tagged’ and released (of course) and swam off to live another day.
